While I used to be a lawyer (now fully recovered), and worked for many years as a policy analyst, I have secretly long enjoyed taking a big, crammed closet and transforming it into a neat, clean, organized space. Embracing my inner “Decluttering Diva” and making that passion my profession was definitely the right move.

As a professional organizer, I know how a cluttered kitchen, bedroom, or garage stands in the way of enjoying daily life. Having been a life-long clutterer, I understand how to help others prioritize, learn to let go, and develop and maintain systems to keep clutter at bay. Plus, my policy-nerd side sees every organizing session as an opportunity to make the local community a bit better – by turning your tattered towels into comfy beds for dogs who are looking for their forever homes, or using those gently loved toys your children haven’t touched for years to make other kids’ eyes and imaginations light up.

In my first year running Declutter For Good, I have taken on projects from very small – organizing a bedroom closet one bin at a time – to really big – leading a full-house move from a rowhouse that had housed a dozen people over four-plus decades. I have turned would-be tears over an “impossible coat closet” into laughter, created an inspiring art corner for a curious toddler, and spurred a top-to-bottom kitchen remodel that has been on the “to do list” since 1980. Along the way, I’ve helped my clients support a range of great local non-profits (and kept our landfills a little less full).

When I’m not organizing or decluttering, I like to take long walks with my husband and our German Shepherd, Atticus, engage in (very) amateur gardening, cook and bake with my two teenaged daughters, hike in local, state, and national parks, and discover new music.
